The key to finding your treasure lies in your ability to answer the question: What problems are you meant to solve?
Another way to state this question is what needs are you meant to fulfill? Generally, problems create needs. So, these problem/need combinations can be personal, local, and/or global.
One important way to approach this question is to think about your past struggles. We are often passionate about the issues that arise out of our struggles and challenges. Sometimes we might not even be aware of how we were and are shaped by struggle. It might not have even been a struggle that you were conscious of. For example, a parent that is struggling with finances might be inclined to take on more than one job, basically reducing the amount of time that parent is able to spend with their child. Thus, the child who grows up feeling distant from their parent, might not realize that the genesis of that struggle was financial strain.
You might spend some time thinking through these questions:
Finally, are you passionate about any of these issues?
Do you see these as potential areas in which you might add value and solve problems? Then you’ve found your hidden treasure!
Real significance is an “inside job".
The downside of using world market influences to become significant is that you have to depend upon the financial, market conditions and economy to become successful. What I failed to understand is that real significance is an “inside job.” I did not understand the riches that had already been deposited in me from birth. I had no idea that inside of me I already had seven apps that made me favor rich and included were the specific plans on how I can discover and leverage them. I was trying to avoid being tagged with poverty. In reality, I had already been tagged with talents, abilities, gifts, (TAG) treasure, purpose, faith, and favor. I was already significant, plus had genius and real purpose. I was Favor Rich and I didn’t even know it!
The seven Apps that have been deposited in me from birth are backed by Heaven’s economy and there are no disruptions there. In fact, the Earth is owned by the same person who put the apps on the inside of me. That means I am backed by the bank of heaven.
“…mobile is the digital gateway for the real world to join in this global metamorphosis of human behavior.” - Tomi Ahonen, consultant and speaker
In 2019, we are not only familiar with mobile phones, but our society has become pretty dependent upon them. The quote above is fitting in that these little handheld devices are a portal for all the changes we’re seeing in human behavior. Today, if you ever want to learn more about a person, just take a peek at their cell phone and all will be revealed, from what they value to what they spend their money on and what they think about most.
Within our mobile phones, we have these little applications (Apps) that run programs like Google, Twitter, and Instagram. Each of these has a specific function, and our App downloads are perhaps the most revealing about who we really are.
Now that I’ve uncovered my gift for recognizing needs in the marketplace and inventing solutions, I’d like to think I will come up with the last remaining life-changing App yet to be created. Chances are, though, if you have an interest, hobby or knowledge gap, there’s already an app for that.
At the age of 16 years old, I decided that because I was the only one in a family of six without a gift oozing out of me, that I’d simply take my brother’s gift of playing music by ear. My knack for business and entrepreneurship wasn’t apparent or glamorous enough for me at that time and was still somewhat uncovered, so coveting and borrowing someone else’s seemed like the logical thing to do in my young mind. Well, when my mother heard the unrecognizable noise coming from my attempts to play the piano, her stern correction quickly told me this was not a bright idea.
